Accordingly, the Information Technology Department, Government of West Bengal formally communicated the offer of the Government to these two companies and invited them to visit the land. WIPRO officials visited the offered land and are highly pleased with its location, ready infrastructures and other intrinsic advantages. Today on 30th October, 2009 the WIPRO officials met the Managing Director, Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) and submitted their request to allot 50 acres of land at a concessional price.             Dr. Debesh Das, the Information Technology Minister of Government of West Bengal said “The people of several walks of life indeed want to see WIPRO to expand and Infosys to step into the state. The decision of WIPRO to start its second campus in West Bengal is quite encouraging. As said by WIPRO, I believe that this facility will augment the employment opportunity of the state to a considerable extent and will boost up the economic activities in the state. It will pave the way for the young aspiring techies of the state to be employed in their own state after their studies.”

It needs only 15 minutes drive from the airport to reach the new location of WIPRO on the side of a 6 lane road. It is inside of a complete modern township with all facilities.
