With the changing patent scenario and
with product patents to be introduced in the country,
Chembiotek offers a window to exciting opportunities
in drug development and process technology. The advantage
of relatively inexpensive infrastructure and trained
manpower in India makes it cost effective and competitive,
in short, an ideal research partner.
The Institute of Molecular Medicine
(IMM) was founded in 1999 to undertake basic research
in the emerging areas of genomics, gene therapy and
drug discovery. IMM is a non-profit research institution,
the purpose of which is to perform cutting edge hypothesis-driven
research in molecular genetics-related areas. The objectives
are to develop world-class expertise and instrumentation
in India that will generate discoveries and novel processes
that will give rise to original publications and intellectual
property that could be developed into products and services
through the partnership or collaboration of Indian and
International commercial institutions. Other activities
of TCG/IMM include Bio-Informatics, Population Genomics
& Genetic Research. The Genetic Research activity
is being spearheaded by Dr. Arjun Surya.
